Building Social Emotional Skills in Middle School

Student social-emotional success and growth is an important part of BMS's approach. We use several nationally recognized programs and best educational practices to provide students with the skill-building and support opportunities they need to thrive and feel a sense of belonging in middle school and beyond.

BMS Social Emotional Curriculum

Second Step This social-emotional learning curriculum builds school climate and culture and promotes the social emotional development, safety, and well-being of students.

Crew Crew supports healthy relationships with self, peers, and adults by focusing on character, academics, climate & relationships, and adventure.

No Bully This program is a bully intervention program led by a counselor or administrator that helps students take responsbility for their actions, repair harm, and reintegrate parties back into school and classroom.

Restorative Practices Restorative practices is a district-wide initiative that is philosophically based in fostering relationships, strengthening understanding, repairing harm, and building strong communities.

WEB Leaders This program is a mentoring program between 8th and 5th grade to build climate and culture and facilitate a positive school culture Where Everybody Belongs.
