The 8th Grade Continuation Ceremony details follow:
Who: 8th graders and their families
What: Celebrate the 8th graders moving on from middle school to high school
When: Wednesday, May 31
RUN: during the day (begins around 12:30)
CEREMONY: early evening (students arrive at 5pm)
DANCE: following the ceremony (7:00 - 8:30 pm)
Where: BMS

Last Week of School Fun
5/29 no school Memorial Day
May 30- Beach Day Wear dress-up day, Field Day
May 31- Spirit Wear, 8th Grade 1 mile run to BHS, 8th grade continuation, and dance. Last day of school for 8th graders.
8th Grade Kate Keenan Memorial Run from BMS to BHS. 5th, 6th, 7th graders watch along the course. Run begins at 12:30 here at BMS in front of the fire station/BMS parking lot.
June 1- Comfy dress-up day, last day of school, no 8th graders on 6/1. 5th grade and 7th grade to Basalt Pool.

Joy of Music!
.Friday, May 12 is the Joy of Music, a performance for Basalt Band students, the largest Basalt Band Boosters fundraiser of the school year, and without a doubt one of the most JOYOUS nights of music ever!
Exciting News: The Silent Auction is open NOW! Bid EARLY and OFTEN to support Band programming for all Basalt students!
Held at Basalt High School, ****Joy of Music features small group student ensembles in performance between 5:30-8:00 PM, delicious food from Taqueria El Yaqui food truck, a silent auction, a 50/50 drawing, AND a spirited cake auction... Tickets are just $25 for adults, $10 for students (elementary, middle, and high school - kids younger than Kinder are free) and include entrance AND dinner; tickets are purchased at the door.

We will be having our first meeting aout organizing the BMS Bike A Thon. This is our biggiest fundraiser for the school. Please come see how you can help! Meeting will be held in the BMS library right after morning drop off at 8:15

Parent Education Night!
Please join us for this amazing event!
Parent Education Night: Tuesday, February 7th Guest speaker Tessa Stuckey, LPC will be talking about parenting in a tech-obsessed world, and gives practical tips and tools for parents on ways they can bring their children up in a world that is so heavily addicted to technology. Doors open at 6pm, presentation from 6:30-8:00pm in the Auditorium. Refreshments will be available prior to the event; Childcare will be available for those who need it and translation will be as well.
