BMS has an award-winning Lego Robotics team and is looking for new members!
Imaginative thinking and teamwork build tomorrow’s innovators:
With adult Coaches to guide them, FIRST® LEGO® League teams (up to 10 members) apply science, engineering, and math concepts, plus a big dose of imagination, to develop solutions to real-world challenges. They also design, build, and program LEGO MINDSTORMS®-based robots to perform autonomous “missions” on a playing field. Along the way, they develop critical thinking, team-building, and presentation skills. Grades 4-8; ages 9-14 are eligible to participate.
A 7th/8th Flex Class works on Robotics, while after-school team practice is open with limited space to interested 5th & 6th students. The team practices regularly throughout the fall, competing regionally and statewide during the late fall and winter. Parent coaches are often needed and students are encouraged to join the after-school team. Click here for information on the team.
