Special Education

The Basalt Middle School Special Education team serves an array of students needs. Our special education teachers each teach a math and literacy class designed to allow students to reach their potential in a setting best conducive to their learning. Additionally, special education teachers team-teach and assist classroom teachers to ensure that our special education students receive the necessary accommodations to be successful in general education settings across all core areas. Our teachers are trained in Advantage Math and multi-sensory reading strategies to be able to assess and instruct students with specific literacy and numeracy needs.
