Spanish Language Arts is offered to students who are on the pathway to the Seal of Biliteracy starting with a Spanish foundation in elementary school or in their homes. Students experience culture, reading, writing, listening, and speaking and have fun practicing these skills in Spanish.
Spanish as a global language will help students understand and get access to diversity, culture, folklore, and develop social and communication skills that are necessary to be successful in our modern society. Through learning Spanish, students can discover something new about themselves and their potential as a human who will live his/her whole life during the 21st century.
This class should be viewed as an opportunity to expand and challenge thinking around language and culture. The process of learning a new language or improving on a second language is similar to learning any new subject or a sport.
