In a few short weeks, you’ll have a high schooler! We wanted to provide you with some information on the upcoming events to honor your student’s transition to high school.

CONTINUATION SLIDE SHOW: Parent Rhonda Schneider is putting together the Continuation Slide Show. Please email her at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. photos of your child in middle school to be included in this slide show. We would like every student to be represented in the slide show.

CONTINUATION DANCE $$: The dance is almost solely parent-funded. Please donate a little or a lot to ensure this evening can be a night to remember for your student. Any leftover funds will follow the class into high school for future events. https://www.gofundme.com/bms-8th-grade-fundraiser

JUNE 3: CONTINUATION SCHEDULE
2:00 PM: KATE KEENAN MEMORIAL MILE RUN. At The Kate Keenan Memorial Mile Run, all 8th grade students will walk/run up to Basalt High School, where they will be welcomed by staff, students, and popsicles to their new home. Please ensure your student brings clothes for this event to school. Students will be bussed back to BMS before the end of school. We welcome parents to line the course and cheer them on!

6:30 PM CONTINUATION STUDENT LINE-UP. All 8th grade students are expected to be at BMS in formal attire to line up for the Continuation ceremony procession.

7:00 PM: CONTINUATION CEREMONY. Student will be honored at this continuation ceremony.

8-10:00 PM: CONTINUATION DANCE. This parent-funded and parent-run dance needs your help. See above for details.event needs your help!

After June 3rd, 8th grade students are not required to attend following days of school at BMS.
