Jan. 16: Ten Tips Every Parent Should Know to Protect Your Child from Sexual Abuse

We'll reschedule soon. The Roaring Fork Valley has one of the highest teen vaping rates in the nation. Join us for a basic and frank discussion about some current teen culture and vaping trends.  Vaping has been happening all around us, now is the time to find out the facts about areas such as, is vaping safe? How do my kids find a vape? What is our Town doing about vaping? Can someone vape marijuana and how do I know the difference? What does a vape look like? Feb. 6: Parent Night: Differentiation for All
The RFSD PEAK team is hosting a parent night with guest speaker Karen Brown, an education consultant and gifted program mentor from Arizona. Come learn about differentiation and what it looks like in the classroom. 6pm at Roaring Fork High School. Questions?  March 6: Parent Coffeehouse on Teen Anxiety & Screening of the Documentary "Angst"

April 10: Parent Coffeehouse on Social Media & Screening of the Documentary "Like" 
A showing of the documentary "Like" will be followed by a guided discussion on internet safety with digital forensics expert Lee Damuth. April 11: No Bully Workshop for Parents and Guardians: How to Bullyproof Your Kid 
At this workshop, families will get up to speed on the new face of bully prevention in our school, learn how to bully-proof your child to succeed in their friendships so that they are neither a bully nor a target, and develop skills to coach your child through the inevitable conflicts and bullying of childhood and adolescence. BMS, 6-7pm.

 

May 2: Positive Parenting Solutions & Essential Brain Science Every Parent Should Know
This district-sponsored evening provides parents with evidence-based information on what happens to a brain under chronic or toxic stress, how parents can address this, and tools for how to rebuild and repair the brain both at home and at school.
