Basalt High School Incoming Freshman Open House: FEB. 21st, 6-7:30pm/
All incoming freshmen families will meet at 6pm sharp in the BHS Commons to hear from Principal Peter Mueller. Get the scoop on some of the great things going on at BHS and receive hard copies of the 2018-2019 Course Catalog and the 9th Grade Course Selection Sheets (which need to be filled out and turned back in on March 2 at BMS). Families will learn how the course-registration process will work for freshmen at this time. Then 8th graders and their parents will be free to learn about BHS sports and clubs at activity tables manned by students, advisers and coaches. You can also chat with counselors in the library or get a student-led tour of the school, including the academic wing and the (awesome) new band and choir spaces. You won't want to miss this great introduction to high school! Both parents and students are highly encouraged to attend.Families may individually contact BHS about a tour or shadowing a student as well.
Additional information on Basalt High School is available on their "For Incoming Students" tab on the website at: http://bhs.rfsd.k12.co.us/
Graduation Dance and Activities: June 7th, 2018
Every year, parents are responsible for organizing the 8th grade graduation dance. A limited budget to help with a DJ is available from the school. If you are interested in helping plan graduation events, please contact Melissa Goodman or Ty Hayden. Graduation "Continuation" day activities include:
- The Kate Keenan Memorial Run up to Basalt High School
- The BMS 8th Grade Continuation Ceremony
- An 8th Grade-only dance in the cafeteria.
Attending BHS Accountability Meetings is an excellent way for 8th grade families to learn about BHS.
