BMS 8TH Continuation Activities: June 7th, 2018
2:10pm: The Kate Keenan Memorial Mile Run kicks off at 2:10pm as we mark 8th graders’ transition to high school with a mile run up to Basalt High School. Parents are encouraged to line the route, especially the finish line at BHS! Students will be bused back to BMS in time for dismissal.

6:30pm: Students should be back at BMS by 6:30pm to line up for the Continuation Ceremony. Please respect the dress code-- appropriate formal attire.

7:00pm: Continuation Ceremony

8:00pm: 8th Grade dance runs until 10pm. See the invite here and the Instagram page here

(8th graders do not have to attend the last day of school on June 8th.)


Help Fund Continuation Activities 
Money is needed! A Go Fund Me account has been set up to defray the costs of the continuation dance on June 7. Every penny helps! Please donate today so that volunteer organizers have a budget to put on a great evening for your student.

A great number of volunteers are needed to make this day special and possible.

9th Grade Summer Reading Requirement
HEADS UP! YOUR SOON-TO-BE HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT HAS A SUMMER READING REQUIREMENT! We want to give all 8th grade families LOTS of notice that there will be summer reading from Basalt High School for ALL rising 9th graders. Details are here:


BHS Sports Information
AUGUST 6: BHS SPORTS: INCOMING BHS FRESHMEN FALL SPORTS INFORMATION: If you are interested in playing a fall sport at Basalt High School (football, volleyball, cross-country, softball, boys' tennis, spirit team, golf) you must have a current sports physical on file to before August 6, which is the start date for all fall sports practice. JULY 30: BHS FALL SPORTS MEETING: A fall sports meeting is tentatively set for July 30 at 6pm at BHS, but this meeting time may change. Please keep an eye on the calendar at the BHS website ( for updates or follow the school's Facebook page:
