The Family Resource Center Will Offer Services During Summer Programs
The Family Resource Center will be offering services during the five weeks of Summer Advantage and Jump Start this summer.Since 1995 the Family Resource Center of the Roaring Fork School District has worked to make sure that Every Student can succeed Every Day. During its 20 years, they have helped students and their families overcome a variety of non-academic barriers to success. By helping families to access supports for basic needs such as food, clothing, rent and utility assistance; dental, vision, medical and mental health; parenting, and enrichment; the Family Resource Center has contributed to the success of tens of thousands of RFSD students. Please see this flyer for more details. CCR, Colorado Community Response, runs all year long. The Roaring Fork School Health Center will be open on a limited basis in Carbondale by appointment
The Roaring Fork School-Based Health Clinic has an office located at Basalt Middle School (although not during summer construction-- the office will be closed but limited service will be available at Roaring Fork High School) and offers a variety of health services for students ranging from mental health to dental care to physicals. The school-based health clinic connects students to medical, dental, nutrition, and behavioral health services. For example, students are able to get a sports physical, have a dental cleaning and exam, and/or get a throat culture right in our school. We are thankful to have Ivy Hansen, Paula Casper, Lilia Larkin and Kathy Johnson taking care of our students with such expertise and supplementing the services of our school nurse's office. For more information or to schedule an appointment, call the 384-6054. For more information on services offered, see this informational flyer in English and Spanish. The center will reopen at Basalt Middle School in the fall.
